Film and animation
For over 40 years, we've been a leader of creative and critical teaching of film, television and animation production. We've forged strong partnerships with industry to give students real-world learning opportunities including working in live studio broadcast production, outside broadcast production, location film production and more.
Our program, staff and students are supported by a highly-skilled and dedicated technical team, who bring our cutting-edge facilities and teaching spaces to life.
Drama studies at Deakin is driven by a desire to foster new voices in the art of storytelling, help these students hone their craft and support them in finding audiences both nationally and internationally.

Dance at Deakin has a foundation in contemporary dance, with a teaching focus in areas including dance performance, dance improvisation, site activated performance, dance onscreen, community and inclusive dance.
We have a strong cohort of HDR students and research capacity to undertake creative, performance and community research projects in collaboration with other disciplines.
