Students enrolled before 2019: Successful completion of MLL110 plus 5 additional Law (MLL) units.
Students commencing from 2019: Successful completion of MLL110 and MLL113 plus 5 additional Law (MLL) units.

Students will on average spend 150 hours over the teaching period undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit.

Content

The unit aims to provide students with an introduction to the principles of constitutional law at the state and federal levels. You will study the Commonwealth Parliament's powers, federalism, and the interrelationship between jurisdiction and judicial review in considerable detail, and you will be introduced to the legal aspects of Commonwealth-State relationships under the Constitution.
