Students will on average spend 150-hours over the teaching period undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit.
Burwood: 1 x 2-hour seminar per week (weeks 1-8) and 1 x 2-hour online seminar (weeks 9-11)Waurn Ponds: 1 x 1-hour online seminar in Weeks 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 1 x 4-hour intensives in Weeks 2, 4, 7, 9
Online independent and collaborative learning including 3 (three) scheduled online workshops
Discover the power of audio storytelling by researching, writing, interviewing, recording and editing your own news and current affairs podcast. You will develop strategies for developing podcasts to reach audiences, on both broadcast and podcast platforms. You’ll also learn how to pitch, promote, distribute and monetise audio content. You’ll leave this unit with the first episode of a fully produced podcast or segment. You will also analyse the media industries in Australia, including the regulatory environment, editorial policies and commercial interests of both radio and podcast networks to support you in effectively navigating your career.
