Students will on average spend 150 hours over the teaching period undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit.
1 x 2 hour class, 1 x 1 hour seminar per week

Property Management prepares students with an appreciation and understanding about this important component of the property and real estate market. This unit introduces students to the property management field and its interconnections with the planning, design, construction and maintenance of buildings. This unit includes different land uses such as residential, office and retail with the emphasis placed on buildings in use. Value management is a core objective of this unit which also covers make good clauses, building pathology, asset management, facilities management and planning. Sustainability issues in property management are an increasingly important issue and an integral part of this role.
From Trimester 1 2021:
Describe and apply the rules, regulations and legislation associated with property management.

These are the Learning Outcomes (ULO) for this Unit. At the completion of this Unit, successful students can:
Apply property legislation and explain its impact on a range of property types, stakeholders and property management practices.
Apply legal, economic, ethical and sustainability principles and/or practices to property management.
Examine and evaluate property management roles and issues in planning, design, maintenance and strategic property management.
Evaluate the impact of the individual contribution in planning, implementing and completing a team project.
These Unit Learning Outcomes are applicable for all teaching periods throughout the year
