Content

An active and diverse events program is a feature of vibrant and dynamic places. Events contribute to a range of cultural, social, economic and environmental outcomes.  As a result a growing number of organisations (including arts, sporting, education and tourism), government departments, community groups and commercial businesses are engaged in delivering events. These events are developed in response to diverse issues, locations/ destinations, communities/ audiences and business objectives. This unit develops skills in designing, planning and delivering festivals and events. It examines the use of a range of management processes, including: project management; operations and risk management; financial management; human resources; and strategic marketing.

ULO1 Determine the use of a range of management processes in the design planning and implementation of arts events and cultural projects

ULO2 Integrate and apply resources relating to the management of cultural projects and events from a range of online sources

ULO3 Appraise information on the management of previous cultural projects and events in order to determine best practice in this field and reconsider the future of cultural project and event management work

ULO4 Contribute to an online community of learners and practitioners in the field of cultural projects and events
