Content

As a requirement of International Education Standard 4 released by the International Federation of Accountants, the unit develops students' appreciation of ethics and their ability to evaluate and apply ethical principles in the decision-making process in accounting, financial planning and finance. Topics covered include: the nature of ethics; personal and organisational ethical factors; ethical theories and principles applicable to finance professionals; ethical decision-making models; ethical issues and conflicts of interest in the financial services industry; professional codes of ethics and workplace ethics; corporate social responsibility; and principles of corporate governance.
