A CSP is a place in a course where Deakin receives some funding from the Australian Government. This means you'll only need to contribute part of the cost of your course – this is referred to as the 'student contribution'. In addition, if you meet the eligibility criteria and would prefer to defer your student contribution, you can apply for HECS-HELP.

HECS-HELP provides you with a loan to cover your student contribution. By taking out a HECS-HELP loan, the Australian Government pays your tuition fees directly to Deakin. You repay your HECS-HELP loan from your employment income – but only once you're earning over $46,620.

How to apply

You can apply online for our government subsidised short courses via the Deakin Application Portal. Before beginning your application, be sure to check your chosen course page for entry requirements and any supporting documents needed.

When entering your course's code, ensure it ends in the letter 'J' to indicate it's for a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP). You can then follow the steps to submit your application online.
