Special consideration for elite athletes and performers

If you're an elite athlete or performer, not only could you be eligible for a course selection rank boost, you also have an opportunity to join our high-performing Elite Athlete Program.

Eligibility

At Deakin, special consideration is given for applicants who identify as an elite athlete or performer. Elite athletes are defined, in line with Deakin's membership of the Elite Athlete Friendly University (EAFU) network, as athletes and coaches contracted to an elite sport and/or entity.

If you're applying for special consideration as an elite athlete, why not apply for a scholarship designed to help you reach your full potential as an athlete and student? Applications for the Deakin Sport Network Elite Athlete Scholarship open on 31 August 2020, and all athletes, elite and aspiring, are encouraged to apply.

Elite Athlete Program

Want to be a high achiever in the classroom and on the sporting field? Our Elite Athlete Program gives you the flexibility, support and resources to take control of your education and career. We can help you negotiate classes and assessments around your training schedule, and we can even arrange for you to study at other universities while you’re travelling for competition.

You’ll also receive a DeakinACTIVE gym membership and access to financial support through the Elite Athlete Support Grants.
