This unit will examine the role of the artist in the disciplines of Dance, Drama, Photography or Visual Arts. It asks: What does an artist do and how does this shape our understanding of the value of culture in society? It places emphasis on identifying and developing the necessary skill set for creativity across thinking, making, and contextualizing creative forms. Through a series of practice-based projects students will emerge well-equipped to take on the more advanced disciplinary studies in the creative arts.
