Content

This study tour unit will examine selected topics in civil and criminal law and procedural justice in the United Kingdom and how those laws and procedures have been adapted into countries such as Australia.

A specialist curriculum content will be taught at a host university or universities located in the overseas jurisdiction by leading academics. In addition, local practitioners will provide insights into the practical workings of the civil and criminal justice systems. The unit will provide an excellent basis on which to develop a comparative perspective on the operation of the civil and criminal justice systems in overseas jurisdictions and Australia. While based at their host university or universities, students will have access to some of the facilities of that university, live in an overseas locality, and be exposed to an overseas law school teaching model.
