Contact your potential supervisor to discuss your research topic and to enquire if they are available.
Ensure your research topic aligns with one of the School of Education’s research centres and groups.
Complete an Expression of Interest form and scan copies of your supporting documents.
Send the form and documents to the Faculty of Arts and Education HDR Support team.
What happens next?
We’ll assess your expression of interest and be in contact about the formal application process for a Higher Degree by Research.

You’ll have the flexibility to study on campus or online, part time or full time. We have a vibrant international higher degree by research student culture, and many of our full-time students have scholarships to support their study.

Research and PhD scholarships
Our research degree and PhD scholarships will support you during your studies and can cover tuition fees, overseas student health cover or living allowances. For the best chance at securing a scholarship, you’ll need an H1 grade average or equivalent.
