Homestay

A great way to support your language learning is through living in a homestay with a local family.

In a homestay environment you will have a fully furnished room with breakfast, lunch and dinner included daily and access to laundry and cleaning facilities.

Deakin can help you find a suitable homestay where you can develop your English language skills in a safe and patient environment. You can make new friends and experience firsthand the Australian way of life.

On-campus accommodation

It can be difficult to secure an on-campus room – but we have made it easier for English course students by reserving rooms for you in student residences on both our Melbourne Burwood and Geelong Waterfront campuses. (Note: Geelong Waterfront  is very close to Waurn Ponds with a regular shuttle bus running between campuses).

Finding your own accommodation

You might like to live off campus but not in a homestay which is a great way to really get to know your local community. If you would like to share an apartment or house with other students, see our off-campus accommodation recommendations.
