State-of-the-art spaces and technology
Deakin IT students learn using the latest technology in fully equipped computer labs and facilities. Alongside hardware and equipment, students use both professional and specialised computer software including development platforms, programming IDEs and engines, and other content development systems.
Located at our Melbourne Burwood Campus, the Robotics and Internet of Things (RIoT) lab has computing, robotics and cyber-physical systems. Our DISCovery Lab provides a fully immersive learning experience where theory and technical skills come to life in practice. Helping support the final-year capstone unit, industry comes on campus and you get to work on real-world projects.

Specialised computer labs and equipment
Deakin regularly invests in its labs and equipment. Our specialised labs include dedicated robotics, cyber security and VR, as well as modern educational technologies. You’ll have access to current software and hardware throughout your studies coupled with a hands-on approach to learning.
Deakin DISCovery Lab
The DISCovery Lab provides a design thinking and ideation space for students. You'll be able to work on real industry projects in an agile project and collaborative lab set-up, giving you a taste of the real-world. The lab features high-end workstations and equipment and flexible learning spaces that mimic modern-day work environments.
Robotics and Internet of Things Lab
The Robotics and Internet of Things (RIoT) Lab has the latest in computing, robotics and cyber-physical systems. You can also access professional software products, such as programming IDEs, games engines, VR and content development systems.
