Refund of credit for domestic students

If you are a domestic student and you have monies in credit, you may be eligible for apply for a refund.

If you discontinue your enrolment or reduce your enrolment load on or before the census date of any study period, you can apply for a refund of tuition fees paid for that study period. You are entitled to a 100% refund of any tuition fee amount paid, provided you withdraw from your units on or before the census date and all other debts to the University have been paid.

Refund of monies in credit for current domestic students

A refund can only be paid when:

  • your StudentConnect record shows you have money in credit and
  • all other debts owing to the University (such as library fines or Student Residences fees) have been paid.

To apply for a refund complete the online refund form via StudentConnect. If you don’t apply for a refund, any amount in credit will be applied to your future tuition fees or other fees and charges. You must complete a refund form in order to receive a refund of your credit balance.

Refund of monies in credit for past domestic students

A refund can only be paid when:

  • your student record shows you have money in credit and
  • all other debts owing to the University (such as library fines or Student Residences fees) have been paid.

To apply for a refund, complete the Application for refund of student fees (PDF, 232.6KB) form and email to fees@deakin.edu.au.

Under normal circumstances refunds will be processed within 15 business days of receipt of your correctly completed application form. If you don’t apply for a refund, any amount in credit will be applied to future tuition fees if you enrol in a new course.
