Deakin International Outcomes 2017

Data from the Graduate Outcome Survey (GOS), the national census of newly qualified higher education graduates

  • 720 (34%) of International graduates told us what they were doing the year after graduation AND how they felt about Deakin and their course
  • This response rate is a bit low so we are limited in our analysis. Response rate for domestic graduates is much higher at 49%
  • 84% undergrads, 91% postgrads labour market participation
  • 24% undergrads, 22% postgrads working multiple jobs
  • 35% undergrads, 10% postgrads were in full time study
  • 28% have been employed Full Time in their role for at least 12 months
  • 29% found their new job via internet ads
  • There were working in 174 occupations across 130 industries in 22 countries (ABS ANZSIC and ANZSCO codes)

What our International graduates thought about their course:

  • 83% undergrads and 84% postgrads overall satisfaction with course quality in 2017
  • 1st in Victoria

  • Expanded range of career planning, talent development and recruiting services
  • Targeted support for domestic and international students experiencing difficulties
  • Course planning and development based on student feedback with an emphasis on real world employment skills
  • Deakin International Student Careers (DISC) program
