Deakin International Outcomes 2018

Data from the Graduate Outcome Survey (GOS), the national census of newly qualified higher education graduates:

  • 1076 (43%) of International graduates told us what they were doing the year after graduation AND how they felt about Deakin and their course
  • 85% undergrads, 92% postgrads labour market participation
  • 31% undergrads, 22% postgrads working multiple jobs
  • 32% undergrads, 11% postgrads were in full time study
  • 69% working full time are with a new (<12 months) employer
  • 26% found their new job via internet ads
  • There were working in 204 occupations across 156 industries in 21 countries (ABS ANZSIC and ANZSCO codes)

What our International graduates thought about their course:

  • 84% undergrads and  postgrads overall satisfaction with course quality in 2018
  • 1st in Victoria

Graduate surveys are one way for you to tell us how to improve as a university.

  • More industry and work placement opportunities
  • Expanded range of career planning, talent development and recruiting services
  • Targeted support for domestic and international students experiencing difficulties
  • Course planning and development based on student feedback with an emphasis on real world
  • employment skills
  • Deakin International Student Careers (DISC) program
