Support for students located overseas
Deakin students located overseas have access to free support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Deakin Student Assistance program provides free, confidential, short-term professional counselling and wellbeing support to our students who are currently located outside of Australia.
Launched in recognition of the challenges students studying outside Australia are facing, the program is designed to enhance your individual health and wellbeing, and can support your entire study, health, and life journey.
Offered by Workplace Options, the service is:
- free to Deakin students
- confidential
- available in English and in local languages
- available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year
- accessible via phone and video chat, and face-to-face in locations across 130 countries.
The service connects you to local resources to help you manage emotional, practical or physical needs.
Counsellors are accredited and bound by professional standards regarding confidentiality. Information provided to them is at your discretion and will not be shared with Deakin.
If you experience any difficulties accessing Workplace Options, please contact Deakin’s Health and Wellbeing Centre.
