a+b Workshop

The School of Architecture and Built Environment a+b workshop provides facilities to build accurate physical models of computer-generated designs.

a+b Workshop

These models are produced using a wide range of equipment, including computer-controlled laser and 3D printers. A wide range of materials is also available, and when coupled with the technology, you can achieve diverse results.

The workshop is located at 17 Brougham Street, Geelong on level 1 in Building F (the student residences). The entrance is from the western side (construction side) of the building. The facility is available to students who are enrolled in the School of Architecture and Built Environment.

Inductions

Before you can use the workshop, you must attend an induction session. Inductions are run over different times – mainly in the first three weeks of Trimester 1 and 2 and take approximately 1.5–2 hours depending on the class size.

To enter the workshop, enclosed footwear must be worn. Open footwear is not allowed at any time.

Workshop rules and safety

Workshop safety is everyone’s responsibility. Workshop rules and considerations have been put in place to ensure the safety of all students and staff. Please read the safety rules carefully before entering the workshop.
