Architecture and construction management placements
Placement opportunities available in architecture and construction management include discipline specific units (for both undergraduate and postgraduate students) and generic units (for undergraduate only).
The aim of this unit is to provide you with the opportunity to work collegially in discipline-relevant organisations and roles to build work ready pre-professional capabilities. The focus is on enhancing broad employability skills within a discipline-specific knowledge and skills development framework. Approved placements must involve projects and other duties in workplaces offering experiences aligned with the discipline in which you are enrolled.
SRM372 Work Integrated Learning Placement
Prequisites
You will be required to complete between 112 and 160 hours of workplace activities with an approved, discipline-aligned company or organisation within a 4–12 week period.
The aim of this unit is to provide you the opportunity to develop career-related skills aligned to your course discipline, as well as specific skills and knowledge required of a built environment professional in practice.
SRM772 Built Environment Practical Assessment
Prerequisites
You must complete a minimum of 112 hours to a maximum of 160 hours of workplace activities with an approved, discipline-aligned company or organisation, within a 4–12 week period.
The aim of this unit is to provide you with an opportunity to gain a better understanding of the construction industry workplace through an industry-based or simulated work placement.
SRM777 Construction Management Practice
Prerequisites
You must complete a minimum of 112 hours to a maximum of 160 hours of workplace activities with an approved, discipline-aligned company or organisation.
This is an optional core WIL placement unit. If you don't have an industry-based placement, you can undertake the simulated version of this unit.
Before you send the placement agreement to the organisation, please email the WIL team to determine if the faculty has an existing agreement with the organisation
