Dr Helen Forbes

Dr. Helen Forbes is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery. Dr Forbes is actively involved in the development of teaching and learning within Deakin University as demonstrated by her membership, participation and leadership in HERG and CHER activities, the University Teaching and Learning Leaders Forum, The Faculty of Health Teaching & Learning Committee, the Teaching Leaders Group and in her role as Director of Teaching & Learning in the School of Nursing and Midwifery. Dr Forbes has broad clinical and academic experience and has held various teaching roles at both undergraduate and postgraduate areas, locally as well as internationally. She has an intense interest in curriculum design and development in nursing and clinical education. Her interests and expertise include teacher and student experiences of teaching and learning, teaching effectiveness and student engagement in learning and clinical education. Her research is reported in a number of papers. Dr. Forbes’ has had clinical involvement with clinical partners at The Alfred and more recently at Cabrini Health in supporting and progressing nursing education.
