Call for Nominations


FACULTY BOARD ELECTIONS – STUDENTS CATEGORY – CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

Nominations for each Faculty Board are called for positions in the following categories:

  • Undergraduate Student
    One member elected by and from undergraduate students of the same faculty.
  • Postgraduate coursework student
    One member elected by and from postgraduate coursework students of the same faculty.
  • Higher degrees by research student
    One member elected by and from the higher degrees by research students of the same faculty.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

Nominations are called from students to represent the students' category for the Faculty Board elections. The call for nominations will open at 9 am on 23 January 2012 and will close at 5 pm on 3 February 2012.

Eligibility

The people entitled to nominate and vote in this election shall be students who are enrolled in the relevant student enrolment category on the date on which the notice of the election is published and who are not full time employees of the University.

Term of Office

The term of office will be from 1 January 2012 to 31 December 2012, for a term of one year.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Lodgement

To lodge a nomination, this form, duly completed, must be received by the Returning Officer at the Corporate Governance, Risk and Compliance Services, Geelong Waterfront Campus, by no later than 5 pm on Friday, 3 February 2012. The form may be emailed to elections@deakin.edu.au and the original forwarded on the same day.
Nominations must be made on the prescribed form which must be returned to the Returning Officer.

Personal Details

Nominees must forward with their nomination form a brief (no more than 100 words) personal statement for publication. This should be a factual statement of qualifications and experience relevant to the position. The Returning Officer reserves the right to edit personal statements.

Conduct of Poll

In the event of there being more nominations than there are vacancies, a poll will be conducted electronically. Due notice of the poll will be given. Voting papers and envelopes will not be distributed manually.
