Nino Ficca
Biography
Nino Ficca is a graduate of Deakin and of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard. He has extensive industry leadership experience in the engineering, technology and infrastructure sectors. He was Managing Director of AusNet Services, Victoria’s largest energy delivery company, for 15 years until stepping down in 2019. Current Non-Executive Director appointments to Boards of the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), APA (ASX) and Chairman of EastLink/Horizon Roads. Industry leadership roles as Chair of Energy Networks Australia, Chair of CIGRE Australia.
Throughout his career Nino has been a strong advocate of diversity in the workplace and of increasing opportunities for women in STEMM education and employment. He also has a very strong record of promoting progressive workplace policies and workplace health and safety.
Nino served on the Deakin Engineering Advisory Board for over 10 years, most of that time as Chair. In 2014 he won Deakin’s Alumni of the Year Award. He is passionate about increasing engagement and partnerships between universities and industry and was instrumental in the partnership between Deakin and AusNet Services to establish the renewable energy microgrid at the Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus.
Nino is a member of the Audit and Risk Committee and National Code Gender-based Violence Committee.

Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) and Graduate Diploma of Management, Deakin; Advanced Management Program, Harvard; Member of Australian Institute of Company Directors; and Fellow of Engineers Australia BCom, MBA, DipEd, FIM, FAICD.
