Deakin University has again achieved the top spot in Victoria for overall student experience in the 2025 Student Experience Survey results for undergraduate students.

Deakin was the only Victorian university to reach a satisfaction rate of over 80 per cent – the 11th time Deakin has been rated first for overall experience in the last 12 years.

Deakin was also highest in Victoria for undergraduate Learning Resources and second in the state for both undergraduate Teaching Quality and Engagement and Student Support and Services.

This success builds on Deakin's outcome earlier this year as the first in the state for overall satisfaction for graduates, in the Graduate Outcomes Survey.

This positive feedback recognises the expertise and guidance of Deakin's teaching staff but also that our approach to connecting services across every aspect of a student's time at Deakin is delivering a positive experience for them.

'Across teaching quality and engagement, student support and services, it's important that we support our students to succeed – both while they are building their skills and knowledge as well as after they graduate.'

Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, Professor Amanda Mooney said the university was looking forward to learning more from the survey results to help continuously improve the student experience.

'It is great to see these results, and they are testimony to the collective endeavours across our institution to support the student experience,' Professor Mooney said.

The survey heard from more than 324,000 students from 153 higher education institutions, including 43 universities.
