Value and duration

  • 100% or 50% of your tuition fees (depending on scholarship outcome)
  • Participation in the Vice-Chancellor's Professional Excellence Program (VCPEP), a requirement of the scholarship
  • Priority access to on-campus accommodation (at your own cost and subject to availability)
  • This scholarship is available for the normal duration of your program.

Am I eligible?

To be eligible you must:

  1. be a new international student enrolling in a Deakin coursework degree
  2. meet the entry requirements for your program, including English language requirements
  3. have achieved at least an 85% average (or equivalent) in previous studies. For example:
    • 85% overall in Year 12 (CBSE, ICSE or State Board), or
    • a score of 10 overall in General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) / A Level, or
    • 32 overall in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP)
    • 80% overall in an undergraduate degree or equivalent in the first four semesters of the undergraduate program.

Conditions of eligibility

  • This scholarship is not available to international students enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine (H911) program
  • Meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee selection. Due to strong competition, higher academic results may be required.
  • All conditions must be met, and the scholarship is conditional upon acceptance of the terms and conditions outlined in the acceptance form
  • Additional fees may apply. The scholarship will not cover study beyond the standard program duration, including extra or repeated units.

Complete the International Scholarship Program application form (PDF, 536KB) and email it to Deakin International Admissions at least one month before your program starts. Only successful applicants will be contacted with an outcome.

Scholarships are assessed on a rolling basis in the lead-up to each trimester. To complete your application, you’ll need to submit:

Your personal statement should be written in your own words and reflect your voice. It should outline why you want to study at Deakin, any extracurricular or work experience (paid or voluntary), what makes you a strong ambassador for the university and any other information that supports your application.

You may also be invited to attend an interview.
