About this scholarship

The Australian-American Fulbright Commission is a non-profit organisation sponsored by the United States and Australian governments, institutional and business partners, and private bequests and endowments.

The Commission promotes education and cultural exchange between Australia and the United States, to enhance mutual understanding and strengthen relations between the two countries. It facilitates this through the implementation of the Fulbright program and other scholarships and exchanges.

Selection criteria

Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements for postgraduate or postdoctoral scholarships.

Postgraduate scholarships

For postgraduate students undertaking their Australian PhD to conduct research and/or study in the United States or to support enrolment in a United States postgraduate program, such as a masters. Includes the prestigious Fulbright-Anne Wexler Scholarship in Public Policy.

Postdoctoral scholarships

For individuals who have completed their PhD in the past five years or are in the last year of completion to undertake postdoctoral research in the United States.
