Content

This unit is the second placement unit in the Master of Child Play Therapy. In this unit students gain the underpinning knowledge and skills to engage children in humanistic play therapy.

The unit commences with a 5-day on campus teaching intensive workshop that includes specialised training in humanistic play therapy skills. Following the intensive, students undertake their second supervised clinical placement with suitable child referrals and monitor change though the therapeutic process.

Alongside clinical placement hours, students are required to undertake regular group and individual supervision with a Deakin-appointed supervisor and must complete and pass the Placement Assessment and Review (PAR) to successfully complete the unit.
