Dr Debra Bateman is an Associate Professor in the School of Education. Her research in higher education investigates the intersection between curriculum practices as policy, and theoretical and infrastructural bounds that limit or enhance dynamic pedagogies.
Debra is researching the use of Social Technologies as increasingly, Web 2.0 is being used as part of Teaching and Learning strategies as well as by students to further collaborate, or oppose what is occurring within formal learning experiences. She is exploring the uses of Social Networking environments such as Facebook and GooglePlus within the context of Higher Education and supervises postgraduate research students in these areas.
