The role of the Committee
The Vice-Chancellor Appointment Advisory Committee’s role is to assist Council in the appointment of Deakin’s next Vice-Chancellor through:
- development and approval of a position description, selection criteria and related documentation
- guiding the selection of executive search firm and other advisory firms
- oversight of the search and recruitment process
- conducting the shortlisting and interviewing of candidates
- reporting to Council throughout the recruitment and appointment process on the progress of search and selection steps
- presenting a recommendation on an appointment to Council.
