Stay at Deakin
Our on-campus accommodation isn't just for students. We welcome academics, school groups, families and individuals to stay with us all year round at any of our campuses. Whether you're staying for a night, a week or a month, we've got a room to suit your needs, including a range of amenities specifically for guests staying on campus. If you're an international student, we recommend that you stay in short-term accommodation for at least the first week of your arrival while you look for long-term accommodation.
Finding your own accommodation off campus is a great way to immerse yourself in the local community. Deakin’s Houseme website provides a database of local rooms, houses and apartments available to rent, near to each campus. We also have an off-campus housing service that can help you with using Houseme, filling out rental application forms, understanding your rights and responsibilities as a tenant and more. If you're an international student wanting to live off campus, you should only start looking for accommodation once you’ve arrived in Victoria.
Homestay – staying with a local family in their home – is a great way to immerse yourself in Australian culture and the community while improving your English skills. You and your host decide how long you stay and fees are paid directly to your host prior to arrival.
