Experience state-of-the-art facilities

Our inspiring learning space has won three prestigious Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) awards for design excellence. The a+b studio and workshop provides a place to collaborate, design and build models, and experiment with technology, materials and processes. The workshop is fully equipped with 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC routers and traditional tools and machinery.

Undergraduate

Undergraduate (your first degree)

An undergraduate degree is generally completed between two to four years, depending on the pattern of study and any recognition of prior learning you may have. Associate degrees, bachelor and bachelor with honours are all undergraduate degrees.

Postgraduate

Postgraduate (further study)

A postgraduate qualification can be undertaken by students who have already completed an undergraduate degree or possess significant, demonstrable work experience. Postgraduate courses include graduate certificates, graduate diplomas, masters and PhDs, as well as specialist programs for industry professionals.

The most rewarding part of my course is the studio units is exploring my own design ideas and receiving critical feedback from experienced tutors. Deakin's tutors provide a lot of room for individual creativity and encourage students to think outside the box.

Master of Architecture

Do you want to register as an architect?

Completing the Bachelor of Design (Architecture) followed by the Master of Architecture gives you an accredited academic qualification. You will then need to complete an additional two years of work experience under the supervision of a registered architect to present for registration with the ARBV and the AIA.

Deakin’s Bachelor of Design (Architecture)^ and Master of Architecture are accredited within Australia by the:

  • Architects Registration Board of Victoria (ARBV)

Both degrees are also recognised by the Board of Architects Malaysia (Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia).
