Deakin puts a strong emphasis on preparing our students for the workplaces they will experience after graduation.
For example, in the Bachelor of Nutrition Science, you have the opportunity to gain 100 hours of valuable practical experience, ensuring you get the opportunity to receive on-site training in a food and nutrition organisation such as Mars Foods, VicHealth or Diabetes Australia.
Our emphasis on practical industry experience will enhance your experience on campus. Throughout your course you will have access to state-of-the-art facilities like our food preparation and food sensory laboratories. These purpose-built facilities have been modelled on commercial laboratories, and will provide you with experience using professional equipment and engaging in the same type of work that will await you in the industry. By the time you graduate, you will feel confident that you are fully prepared for your future career.

I have been in the laboratories quite a lot and have been impressed by the quality of equipment and facilities. Deakin has given me valuable practical experience and helped me really understand particular areas such as chemistry and food science.
