Does your course follow different study dates?
Not all courses follow the standard study dates outlined above, with some courses offered across two semesters. Please check the following unit and course pages for relevant updates, including study period information.
How Deakin's flexible trimesters work
Most full-time students study in Trimester 1 and Trimester 2. Depending on your course, you can choose to study over summer in Trimester 3 to help fast-track your degree, or take a break before study starts again.
Research degree start dates
Research students may be able to start their studies at any time throughout the year, subject to faculty approval. However, we recommend starting at one of the four main intake dates to make the most of orientation programs and support services.
