This project aims to increase the tertiary education participation rates of students from regional areas, by providing appropriate and affordable on-campus accommodation. The project is supported by the Australian Government's National Rental Affordability Scheme.

With partial funding from the Federal and State governments, 102 residential studio apartments will be constructed at the Warrnambool Campus, ready for occupation by Trimester 1, 2014. These Green Building Design apartments will feature:

  • Kitchenette, en-suite bathroom and study area

  • Central laundry facilities

  • Shared dining facilities

  • Access to pastoral care and educational assistance

  • Significant common areas (including TV rooms and academic mentor rooms)

  • Nearby access to student support services
