What is the Deakin Guaranteed ATAR?

At Deakin, we are providing lower upfront guaranteed ATARs for eligible students from under-represented cohorts. So, this may mean you are from an under-represented school, a rural or regional location or come from an Indigenous background. This provides you with more certainty, reduces stress and gives you the best chance to get into the course you really want.

A tangible reduction in ATAR

The tangible reduction in ATAR means it is more accessible for you to get into your preferred Deakin course and pursue your ultimate career goals.

ATARs published upfront

The Deakin Guaranteed ATAR is published upfront and guarantees eligible students a place in the listed course at a lower ATAR, provided you meet the guaranteed ATAR and any course prerequisites.

Available on most courses

The Deakin Guaranteed ATAR is available for most Deakin undergraduate courses in 2025. It can help you achieve your study and career goals, and get the university education you deserve.

Am I eligible?

If you are an Australian Year 12 student, you could be eligible for the Deakin Guaranteed ATAR if you:

  • attend a Deakin under-represented school – check if your school is on the list here
  • live or study in a regional or remote home or school location
  • are of Indigenous Australian descent.

How do I apply for the DEAKIN GUARANTEED ATAR?

You can apply for a course with a Deakin Guaranteed ATAR in a few simple steps:

Apply for your preferred Deakin courses through VTAC.

Apply for the VTAC SEAS Category 1 by the closing date.

Review your application and submit.

The Deakin Guaranteed ATAR is based on the ATAR you receive before any Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) adjustments are made. It’s your SEAS application that will tell us that you are eligible for the Guaranteed ATAR.
