Our research advances the understanding and practice of business and law, seeking practical outcomes that benefit communities, professions and society. Our research programs are supported by five research centres and two schools. Together, we tackle some of the most urgent and important business and legal questions of our time.
Industry-backed commercial research
We focus on high-quality discovery, using industry connections to carry out commercial research that’s relevant to both business and the wider community. We engage and collaborate with industry, learning and sharing ideas.
Innovative research in law
We develop innovative and relevant research in a diverse range of legal fields. These include public law, corporate governance, crime and social justice, health law, intellectual property and technology, international organisations and security, mining and energy law and human rights.
Highly respected research
Alfred Deakin Professor Matthew Groves, from Deakin Law School, is one of Australia's most eminent public law scholars. An elected Fellow of the Australian Academy of Law, he has a highly respected international profile, and his research is among the most cited in Australian courts.
