We will happily take referrals from healthcare professionals such as your General Practitioner, but you don’t need a referral to see a dietitian.
Deakin Nutrition and Dietetic Education and Training Clinic, we offer initial, in-person appointments (approximately 60 minutes) and in-person review appointments if required (approximately 45 minutes).
An Accredited Practising Dietitian will lead the consultations and ask you questions related to your health and medical history, your lifestyle and your diet. Undergraduate Nutrition or Master of Dietetics students will observe consultations (one to two students per consultation). During your consultation, there may be brief interactions between your Dietitian and the observing students. This ensures our students gain real-world experience in an authentic environment.
Your Dietitian will come up with a realistic dietary management plan for you and discuss tailored strategies to assist you with your condition. Please bring along any recent blood test results or any other relevant test results to the first appointment.
You don’t need a referral to see a Dietitian. However, we will happily see you if you have a referral from a General Practitioner or another healthcare provider. Your Dietitian may correspond with your General Practitioner or referring clinician about your nutrition and dietary management.
We provide Nutrition and Dietetic management in a number of different areas including:
