Deakin Nutrition and Dietetic Education and Training Clinic
We're a full-service Dietetics practice run by a Deakin team of Accredited Practising Dietitians (APDs), who are members of Dietitians Australia. Book in a consultation for a tailored nutrition plan.
Full service, Dietitian-led consultations
At the Deakin Nutrition and Dietetic Education and Training Clinic, we offer initial, in-person appointments (approximately 60 minutes) and in-person review appointments if required (approximately 20-40 minutes).
An Accredited Practising Dietitian will lead the appointments and ask you questions related to your health and medical history, your lifestyle and your diet. Undergraduate nutrition and Master of Dietetics students may observe consultations (one to three students per consultation), either in the room or via videocam.
During your appointment, there may be brief interactions between your Dietitian and the observing students. This ensures our students gain real-world experience in an authentic clinic and learning environment.
Your Dietitian will come up with a realistic dietary management plan for you and discuss tailored strategies to assist you with your condition. Please bring along any recent blood test results or any other relevant test results to the first appointment, or email them through prior.
You don’t need a referral to see a Dietitian. However, we will happily see you if you have a referral from a General Practitioner or another healthcare provider. Your Dietitian may correspond with your practitioner about your nutrition and dietary management.
We can also present to your sporting club or community group, which is a great opportunity to have a Dietitian answer questions after a short presentation.
We provide Nutrition and Dietetic management in a number of different areas including:
- cardiovascular disease (e.g. high blood pressure and high cholesterol)
- diabetes
- healthy weight management
- general healthy eating.
Depending on your needs, we will tailor an individual nutrition plan and work with you to achieve your goals. One-on-one consultations ensure you receive an individual assessment and management plan to achieve the best possible outcomes for you.
