Industry experience built into your degree

Work on real-world projects from your first year and participate in an industry work placement as part of your degree, helping you develop professional networks before you graduate and gain the industry experience employers are looking for.

You will complete a minimum of 100 hours of professional work experience in the industry with an approved host organisation (Software Engineering students are required to complete at least 60 days of industry work experience).

Gain international industry recognition

Deakin’s undergraduate IT degrees are professionally accredited with the Australian Computer Society (ACS) – meaning you will graduate with a degree sought after by industry and recognised around the globe.

The Bachelor of Software Engineering (Honours) is also provisionally accredited with Engineers Australia (EA).
