Deakin University’s South Asia Office is located in South Delhi and is Deakin’s hub for operations across the South Asia region. The office provides support for recruitment, research, mobility, alumni and employability in addition to regularly facilitating events and engagement activity.

Over the past 28 years, Deakin University has been a key conduit in the Australia–India relationship, linking Australian academic expertise with leading Indian research institutions and industries. Deakin currently boasts of collaboration with the premier engineering institutions, business schools, schools of humanities and social sciences, institution of eminence in agriculture, environment, and top corporates like TATA, Mahindra, Infosys, Ford and more. This industry-academia collaboration has resulted in cutting-edge applied and translational research that benefits not just students and industry but people.
In 2009, Deakin launched the Deakin India Research Initiative (DIRI) which offers Indian students, academics and professionals the opportunity to pursue a PhD in India while working with Deakin researchers through co-supervised doctoral programs.

Deakin offers a lot of leadership roles to help students gain valuable experience in different areas. I currently work as a math mentor helping students solve their math problems and become independent learners. This experience has increased my confidence as a leader and helped me get an internship at the uni.
