Our partners

Deakin has a long and rich relationship with the South Asia region. We were the first foreign university to establish operations in India in 1994. Since then, we have developed strategic partnerships with India’s premier research organisations, academic institutions and corporations.

Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research

The Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) is the largest academic institution for doctoral research in India. Deakin and AcSIR partner to offer research opportunities in science and engineering for students in India and Australia. The organisations aim to collaborate on areas of shared research interests.

Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati

The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) is known for its research on theoretical and applied aspects of core science. Deakin and IIT Guwahati are members of Australia India Water Council and seek to collaborate on research on water and biopolymers. Together, they facilitate a joint doctoral program, student internships, mobility and faculty exchange.

Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad

The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad) is one of the most coveted schools for science and technology in India. Deakin and IIT Hyderabad collaborate through a joint doctoral program and student exchanges in the areas of additive manufacturing and artificial intelligence.

Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur

The Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur (IIT Jodhpur) fosters technology education and research to benefit the economic development of India. Deakin and IIT Jodhpur collaborate to promote research in computer science, medical devices, digital humanities, energy and infrastructure through joint doctoral programs, student internships, mobility and faculty exchange.

Indian Institute of Technology Madras

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) is known for excellence in technological education. Deakin and IIT Madras established a joint doctoral program, facilitate student exchange and established the Centre of Excellence in Advanced Materials and Manufacturing in 2017. In 2022, Deakin and IIT Madras launched the virtual Australia-India Centre for Energy to drive collaboration between government, funding agencies and researchers.

Indian School of Business

The Indian School of Business evolved from the need for a world-class business school in Asia. It is committed to creating leaders through its innovative programs, outstanding faculty and thought leadership. Deakin and the Indian School of Business collaborate on various areas of research in business and management through a joint doctoral program.

Manipal Academy of Higher Education

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) is one of India's leading academic and research institutions. Deakin and MAHE's partnership has spanned more than two decades, with collaborations ranging from student pathway programs to research partnerships and faculty and student exchange programs.

TERI-Deakin Nano Biotechnology Centre

The TERI-Deakin Nanobiotechnology Centre was established in 2011 by India’s The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in collaboration with Deakin and aims to foster cutting-edge research in nanobiotechnology. Research delves into issues of food security in changing climates, remediation of polluted environments through natural products and improving health through novel molecules.

An innovative educational initiative

Deakin University will open the first international teaching campus in India in early 2024. Located in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City), a central business district in Gujarat, the GIFT City Campus will offer future-ready Deakin postgraduate courses aligned with local employment needs.

Chitkara University

Chitkara University and Deakin offer a pathway program where students study two years of Deakin's licensed curriculum at Chitkara before transferring for the remaining two years of study in Australia.

Manipal University

Manipal University is one of India's leading institutions. The International Centre for Applied Sciences at Manipal offers a unique transfer program, where students study the first two years at Manipal and the remaining two years of study at Deakin.

Vellore Institute of Technology

Vellore Institute of Technology was established to provide quality higher education on par with international standards. Deakin and Vellore facilitate student and faculty exchange and collaborate on joint research projects.

PSG Institute of Advance Studies

PSG Institute of Advance Studies promote high-quality research in science and technology and provides opportunities for collaboration with universities abroad. Students can earn Deakin credits and gain an international degree while studying partly in India.

upGrad

upGrad provides online learning in collaboration with industry and top universities. Deakin and upGrad offer an online program for mid-senior and senior professionals to support professional growth. The partnership is the first of its kind between an Australian university and an e-learning company in India.

Deakin and NSDC have established the Global Job Readiness Program to elevate the proficiencies of candidates in six crucial soft skills: communication, collaboration, problem solving, innovation, financial literacy and digital literacy.

National Stock Exchange Academy

National Stock Exchange Academy (NSE Academy) promotes financial literacy and skill-oriented financial markets courses. DeakinCo. and NSE Academy partner to offer skills development programs in India across the themes of communications, project management, data analytics and more.

Tata Management Training Centre

Tata Management Training Centre (TMTC) is the learning arm of Tata Group Human Resources, a highly regarded leadership development institution. DeakinCo. and TMTC offer customised training programs for executives, senior management and clients. We have successfully delivered training programs for Tata AIA, Tata Capital and Tata Advance Systems.

Rajasthan Royals

Indian Premier League cricket team Rajasthan Royals collaborates with Deakin to promote sports education. Deakin.Co. and Rajasthan Royals offer online certificate programs in sports marketing. Deakin also offers scholarship opportunities to study sports management in Australia.
