Horizon Europe
Solving global challenges with Deakin’s research expertise.
Why collaborate with Deakin for Horizon Europe
Horizon Europe is the European Union’s key research and innovation program, funding collaborative projects that address major global challenges. Deakin’s expertise aligns closely with the scheme’s focus on health, technology, advanced manufacturing, climate adaptation, environmental sustainability and global security, backed by extensive experience contributing to projects funded by international foundations, governments and consortia. Work with us to access world-class infrastructure, established international networks and the dedicated support you need to develop competitive proposals.
Industry-linked facilities
Access specialist institutes, centres and facilities that connect research with real-world challenges. Our infrastructure enables researchers to test, develop and scale new ideas across advanced manufacturing, materials science, medical research, artificial intelligence and marine biology.
A unique perspective
Our Indo-Pacific partnerships and Indigenous knowledges bring a distinctive perspective to global research collaborations. This is complemented by unique coastal and environmental research settings that provide opportunities for research in real-world contexts.
Proven international collaborator
Deakin has a strong track record of delivering internationally collaborative research and participating in major global funding initiatives. Our network includes more than 500 collaborators across 65 countries.
Dedicated project support
Our Research Funding Services team makes it easier to connect with more than 2,000 researchers, bring expertise together and develop competitive proposals. We can help researchers navigate funding frameworks and auditing requirements.
Horizon Europe in action at Deakin
Our researchers are already contributing to a number of Horizon Europe-funded initiatives, including a project involving Deakin’s Cognitive Neuroscience Unit that is investigating risk and resilience factors associated with neurodevelopmental diversity. Other projects include research into safer solid-state batteries, atmospheric pollution, sustainable and human-centred SMEs, regenerated cotton for electronic textiles and approaches to social exclusion.
Deakin is a trusted global research partner with the networks, expertise, infrastructure and collaborative capability to contribute to international research partnerships and consortium opportunities.
