The Deakin Guaranteed ATAR offers eligible students from under-represented groups a published ATAR that guarantees course entry. It provides clarity and confidence so you can plan your future and access the university education you deserve.
Tangible ATAR reduction
You shouldn’t miss out on the university education you deserve. That’s why we’re levelling the playing field by providing a tangible reduction in ATAR for eligible students, on average 10 points below the lowest selection rank across most courses.
Guaranteed ATAR published upfront
We publish guaranteed ATARs upfront for all eligible courses and clearly articulate the eligibility conditions, so you know what you're working towards from the outset.

Are you eligible?
If you’re an Australian Year 12 student, you may be eligible for the Deakin Guaranteed ATAR if you belong to one of the following groups that are under-represented at university:
- attend a Deakin under-represented school – check if your school is on the list
- live or study in a regional or remote home or school location
- are of Indigenous Australian descent.

How to apply for a course with a Deakin Guaranteed ATAR
Applying for a course with a guaranteed ATAR is easy. Follow these three simple steps:
- Select your preferred Deakin course(s) through VTAC.
- Remain opted-in for the 'personal information and location' category.
- Review your VTAC course application and submit.
The information captured in your VTAC application will be used to automatically check if you're eligible for the Deakin Guaranteed ATAR. The Deakin Guaranteed ATAR is based on the ATAR you receive before any adjustments are made.

Deakin Guaranteed ATAR – For Trimester 1, 2027 intake.
Lowest selection rank ATAR – The lowest selection rank ATAR is based on 2026 early and first round VTAC offers, including relevant adjustment factors.
NP – The ATAR is 'unpublished'. 'Unpublished' means the course is available at this location, but the lowest selection rank of an applicant to which an offer was made isn't available.
