  • $5000 per year, prorated to $625 per credit point studied, as cash or credit toward your tuition fees.

Duration

  • Awarded for the normal full-time duration of the course. 

Am I eligible?

Ensure you meet all criteria before submitting an application. To be eligible you must be:

  • a domestic student
  • commencing a bachelor or honours degree at Deakin University in Trimester/Semester 1, 2026
  • enrolled full time in a Commonwealth supported place (CSP), unless there are individual circumstances preventing this
  • able to demonstrate one of the following:
    • an ATAR of at least 80
    • a Weighted Average Mark (WAM)/Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 80 in previous tertiary study
    • leadership experience
    • elite sports performance
    • community service or volunteer activities
    • achievement in the Arts
    • any other exceptional achievement.
  • experiencing an area of hardship
  • meet one of the following:
    • currently attending a Deakin under-represented school, or
    • living or studying in a regional or remote home or school location, or
    • of Indigenous Australian descent. 

Maintaining this scholarship

To retain this scholarship you must maintain a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of at least 65. You may also be invited to take part in feedback or evaluation activities to help Deakin continue delivering this and similar scholarships.

Offer rounds and closing dates

Applications for bachelor degree close 5pm Wednesday 7 January 2026. Refer to offer rounds below.

Applications for honours degree close 5pm Wednesday 11 February 2026.  No scholarship offers will be made until after applications have closed. To be considered, you must have received an offer to study an honours degree at Deakin in 2026.

Early round

Bachelor degree only - To be considered for an early round scholarship offer, ensure your scholarship application and all supporting documents are submitted by 5pm on Thursday 4 December 2025, and that Deakin is listed in your VTAC course preferences by the change of preference deadline at 4pm on Monday 8 December 2025.

Round one

Bachelor degree only - To be considered for a round one scholarship offer, you must submit your scholarship application and all supporting documents by 5pm on Wednesday 7 January 2026, and have received an offer to study a bachelor degree at Deakin in 2026.
We will be aiming for full allocation of available scholarships in this round.

Re-offer round

Bachelor degree only - To be considered for any remaining scholarships, you must submit your scholarship application and all supporting documents by 5pm on Wednesday 28 January 2026, and have received an offer to study a bachelor degree at Deakin in 2026.

Register and log in to Deakin's Scholarship Application Portal, then select 'Undergraduate Scholarship Application Tri/Sem 1 2026'. If eligible, your application will be considered for this scholarshipand any others you may be eligible for.

Numbers are limited; not all eligible applicants will receive one. If you're successful, you'll be notified via email; usually within six weeks of the application closing date. Unsuccessful applicants will not be contacted.

Supporting document

As part of the application process you're required to upload supporting documentation by the specified closing date. These should be current, relevant and concise.

The documents required for this scholarship include (if applicable):

  • evidence of your previous WAM or GPA (if completed at another institution)
  • evidence of any leadership activities or community service achievements
  • evidence of any sporting or other achievements
  • evidence of your financial hardship
  • evidence of your medical condition.

Make sure you choose the correct document type when you upload your documents – it will make a difference. If your documents are uploaded as the incorrect type they will not be considered when assessing your application. Remember, it's quality, not quantity, you need to provide.
