Follow our step-by-step instructions on how to accept your Letter of Offer as an international student at Deakin University.
Congratulations on your offer to study at Deakin!
You have an exciting journey ahead of you. But first, you need to respond to your Letter of Offer. Follow our five-step guide on how to accept your offer and ensure you receive your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). We recommend you complete these steps as soon as possible to allow plenty of time to apply for your student visa.

How to accept your offer
Depending on your situation, the process of accepting your offer can be slightly different. Follow our guide below to accept your offer with confidence. Don't forget, our friendly advisors are here to help you at any stage.
Meet the conditions of your offer
If you received an unconditional Letter of Offer email from Deakin, proceed to Step 2.
If you received a conditional offer from Deakin, you will need to meet all conditions outlined in your Letter of Offer before accepting. Conditions might include (but are not limited to) providing proof of English language proficiency or academic qualifications. All conditions will be outlined in your Letter of Offer, emailed to you from Deakin University.
If you applied through an international agent, they can guide you through the acceptance process and help you submit any required documents.Accept your offer
The next steps will depend on whether you applied to Deakin with an agent or directly via the Studylink application system. Either way, you must accept your offer and pay your fees by the deadline stated on your Letter of Offer to confirm your enrolment.
I applied through an agent
You will need to give your authorised international agent permission to accept the offer on your behalf. They will help you meet any conditions in your Letter of Offer, assist you to complete your Offer Acceptance Form (PDF, 668KB) and provide guidance on how to pay your fees.
I applied directly to Deakin
If you received a conditional offer from Deakin, you will need to meet all conditions outlined in your Letter of Offer before accepting. When you are ready to accept your offer, log in to the StudyLink application portal, upload your completed Offer Acceptance Form (PDF, 668KB) and pay your fees.Organise Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
As an international student in Australia, you are required by the Australian Government to have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of your student visa. You can purchase pre-arranged OSHC when you accept your offer, or you may choose your own provider.
If you choose to arrange your own OSHC, you will need to provide the details of your cover to Deakin and submit proof of purchase directly to the Department of Home Affairs along with your student visa application.Receive your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
Once we have received your Offer Acceptance Form (PDF, 668KB) and payment of fees, you will receive your electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). Your CoE lists the official start and end dates of your degree. This is the time in which you will need to complete your degree.
You will also find information on the fees you have paid and the total fees required for your degree. You will need to use your CoE to apply for your student visa. It provides the Department of Home Affairs with the information they need about your study plan to grant you a student visa.Apply for a student visa
You must have a valid student visa to live and study in Australia. Your visa confirms that you are allowed to study at Deakin University and stay in the country for the duration of your degree.
You can apply for your student visa through the Australian Government's Department of Home Affairs website. We support you in preparing your visa application and can direct you to accurate Australian Government visa information.

Are you under 18 years old?
International students under 18 years of age must demonstrate that they have adequate welfare arrangements in place before they can be granted a student visa. Find out more about meeting these requirements.
Changing your enrolment
If you are unable to start at Deakin on the date in your offer letter, you can defer your enrolment for up to 12 months. This means you can begin your Deakin studies later without applying again. Contact the Deakin International Admissions team to arrange a new start date or to withdraw or cancel your enrolment. If you wish to withdraw or cancel, you must notify Deakin in writing.
Please note: deferring, suspending or cancelling your enrolment may result in the cancellation of your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) and may affect your student visa.
