Content
This unit supports students to explore the diverse opportunities open to apply criminological knowledge in the field, nationally and internationally. It introduces students to a range of pathways, careers and organisations relevant to their developing knowledge and skills in the criminal justice arena. The unit provides insight into a range of volunteering and other opportunities open to undergraduate students that can assist in securing strong employment opportunities following graduation. It incorporates presentations from a number of industry and other stakeholder partners who each provide personal insight about their roles within various criminal justice related organisations and agencies, and offer advice to students on how to successfully enter their field of work. Lectures and seminars will be accompanied by online activities, discussions and assessment tasks that support career readiness, preparing students to make a real impact on social justice and embrace the dynamic opportunities open to Deakin criminology graduates.
