Sports Media in the Digital Age Introduction to Sports Media is a broad, yet comprehensive guide of the ever-evolving modern sport media landscape. You will explore the significant role that different digital media and media platforms play in the creation, distribution, and consumption of sport-related content. We will also analyse. The unit provides a review of the historical evolution of sport media to link to and understand the modern context, explores the impacts, opportunities and challenges of digital technologies and the integration of AI in sports media and broadcasting. Content will investigate innovations in digital technologies and new media platforms as well as consider and the role of media in shaping public perceptions and discussions about sports through legacy media, independent media and influencer and fan-driven content creation. The unit will examine a broad range of cultural, social, political and economic issues that are relevant to communications professionals seeking a career in the sport media industries.
