Content
What does a just society look like-and who gets to decide? This unit invites students to grapple with some of the most pressing questions of our time, from economic inequality and gender justice to environmental crises and global injustice. Through engagement with influential traditions such as liberalism, Marxism, feminism, critical race theory, and communitarianism, students will develop the tools to evaluate and challenge competing accounts of justice, liberty, equality, and democracy. Along the way, they will connect abstract philosophical ideas to real-world issues shaping contemporary political life.

Hurdle requirements
To be eligible to obtain a pass in this unit, students must achieve an overall mark of at least 50% in assessment task 2, Essay to evidence a minimum proficiency in the aligned discipline learning outcomes included in this unit.
