Content

In this unit, students will demonstrate their knowledge of emergent literacy development and critically evaluate how these can inform a teacher’s planning and practice. A range of developmentally appropriate strategies will be explored, investigating their relevance to diverse children’s literacy learning. Opportunities are provided for students to apply their knowledge to the planning of play-based literacy learning experiences, including the use of key guiding documents. This unit supports students in developing their skills and an understanding of their role in extending and enriching young children’s literacy learning.
