Content
This unit examines the critical role of education in humanitarian development and disaster response and creating a more humanitarian world. It begins with a broad consideration of human rights drawing on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the different threats to human rights occurring globally via natural disaster, war and conflict, and political movements. Students will explore the challenges related to children and young people in humanitarian development and take action in support of education for humanity. They will critically reflect on the challenges faced by practitioners in diverse fields engaged with humanitarian development or human rights and design a professional stance on improving human rights.
