Applying current research, students will develop advanced knowledge and skills of key learning theories, including formal, informal, incidental and work-based learning and contemporary practices in the scholarship of teaching and learning. They will apply this knowledge to critically reflect and develop their own teaching philosophy and plan for future professional development and lifelong learning.

Drawing on this teaching philosophy, students will explore theories of adult learning and teaching methodologies that develop evidence-informed curriculum design that supports high-quality learning. The unit applies advanced theories of adult learning, curriculum design, pedagogy and assessment activities to develop a deep understanding of teaching practice in vocational education and training, focussing on digital learning strategies, how diverse learners learn, and designing teaching for active learning.
