Content

This unit develops advanced pedagogical content knowledge in relation to approaches that support teaching and learning as well as critically exploring the theory and practice of pedagogy as central to curriculum planning and implementation. A strong emphasis is placed on researching and applying pedagogical content knowledge as it relates to teaching strategies and their application in teaching areas of the primary classroom. Through a combination of critical reflection, collaborative planning, and practical application, students design and deliver interdisciplinary, engaging, and culturally responsive learning experiences. Students research and design interdisciplinary lesson sequences that integrate into primary learning areas. Beginning with an examination of the purpose of education and learner identity, students will explore a diverse range of pedagogical frameworks, including;
